Louisville is one of those underrated cities off most travelers radar except in reference to the Kentucky Derby. Know that if you visit just to see the Derby you are missing a ton of awesomeness that this city offers. Make Amman your base in Jordan and do these worthwhile day trips. Amman trips include a day trip to Jerash, the Dead Sea, Madaba among others. Easy access by bus, tour or rental car. Not to mention Amman is actually a cool city to explore.
Jordan is amazing and no it is not just Petra. There is the amazing float on the Dead Sea; the dark nights and red sandy days in Wadi Rum Desert; the Camels, Bedouins, Nabataeans, Romans, Greeks and much more. Worth every travelers time is this safe Middle Eastern country called Jordan.
